Home Sites serve as the player's base of operations while surviving in the zombie apocalypse of State of Decay 2. They are typically fortified and walled-off locations containing a number of slots for Facilities that contributes to your community's ability to survive.

About Home Sites

Home Sites are the safe havens in State of Decay 2's zombie infested world. It's your base of operations and the home of your community. While each home site has a different setting and vibe to it, all of them have 4 things in common:

  • a defensible perimeter (usually walls or fences),
  • a Locker (for storing items),
  • a Command Center (for providing Outpost slots and Radio Commands),
  • a Storage (for storing resources), and
  • a couple Parking spots.

Home Sites can be improved by building and upgrading Facilities, and claiming Outposts, providing benefits and crafting opportunities for your survivors to help them in their day-to-day survival. A well-maintained home with a cooperative community is key to survive the apocalypse.

Home Site Locations

Every Campaign map has several home sites with varying sizes: starter, small, medium, large, and huge. The size of the home site determines the number of slots it has for facilities and the requirements for moving into it. Most bases also have unique built-in facilities which can only be found in that particular base.

Heartland's Trumbull Valley only has one base, which is also the game's largest base so far.
