Personal Goals are scripted missions given by your survivors.

About Personal Goals[]

When playing Campaign each survivor in your community has a chance to reveal their Personal Goal. These Goals are different questlines to achieve something important for your survivor, and can only be completed with the survivor coming up with them. Some goals are more common than others, however you can only get each of them once per community. Each survivor can only provide one Personal Goal questline during their lifetime, so after you complete or fail/ignore/abandon these missions, they won't get another goal in the future, even if you use them for starting a new community.

They are scripted, so any time your survivors reveal them, you'll always have the same tasks in order to achieve their goal. Slight randomization can occur while completing them, but most of the times the tasks and the outcome will be the same. Completing these goals can be exciting, time consuming, or even annoying (depending on which Personal Goal you come across), but most of them will reward you with valuable or exclusive items, assets, or new recruits.

A Life of Regret[]

Note: This Personal Goal only seems to appear if you have a Lounge or related facility which provides the Mix a Round of Drinks Facility Action.

Your Survivor's Friend Max[]

"You know, I wish I'd spent more time with my friend Max when he was alive. I should go pay my respects at our favorite bar."

Your survivor tells the community that they had a friend before the Outbreak and they want to visit the bar they used to drink at.

After you travel to the bar, your task is to find some Jugs of Ethanol to make your survivor and Max's favorite drink. When you find it, you must return to your base to deposit the Ethanol and mix a round of drinks in the Lounge (or related facility) in honor if of Max. As the Facility Action completes, the mission ends.

"Hey everyone, drinks are on me in honor of my old frined Max! Enjoy life while you got it!"

Your survivor's thoughts during the mission:

  • Starting the mission: Max was a great drinking buddy. Always made me feel better, no matter how bad life got. I should find our old bar and drink to his memory.
  • Arriving to the bar: Max and I spent hours here, complaining about things that didn't matter. I've never been so happy. Maybe I'd feel that way again if I could mix up our favorite drink.
  • Finding and picking up the Jugs of Ethanol: Max always said not to take life so seriously. I'll bring some of this home to keep his spirit alive.

Sarah[]

"I should try to find out where Max and his wife lived and go pay respects. We mostly met in bars. But I owe it to his memory to find his house."

Your survivor wants to find where Max lived. They remember that once they picked up Max at the store where his wife worked. They think that maybe they can find out where they lived at her old shop.

Your task is to travel to the location and search it for clues. As you search the location, you'll find an Envelope Note which holds information on the employees who worked there. After that you must travel to to the house where Max and Sarah lived before the Outbreak.

When you enter the house, you hear someone over the radio calling for their mom. When you answer the call, they ask what you are doing in their mom's house.

"Sarah was your mother? I was friends with her and your father. Is she still alive...? Hello? Hello? Well, I didn't see that coming. Time for a new plan."

Max and Sarah's Kid[]

"Hello? I'm trying to reach the person who was in my parent's house. Their names were Max and Sarah. You said you were their friend. I could really use some help!"

The child of your friends asks for your survivors help through the radio. Your task is to travel to their location. When you arrive, you must save them from the zombies attacking them. After you clear the zombies out, they tell you that they're surviving alone since their parents disappeared.

  • You can offer to take them in to your community, or
  • wish them good luck and let them survive on their own.

[Survivor Name]'s Camping Trip[]

Note: This mission only comes up if you did recruit the kid in the previous mission.

"With Max and Sarah gone, it's up to me to take care of their kid."

Your survivor will mention that with the kid's parents gone, it is up to them to look after their kid. They will then remember that their dad used to take them camping when they are feeling sad, leading to them suggesting to talk to the kid and bring them on a camping trip. Your first task is to find a Norma, which will conveniently spawn near camp for your perusal in this quest. Your quest marker will then lead you to a nearby hidden campsite, which you would later discover to be infested by a zombie horde that could potentially ruin your little camping trip. Upon clearing the infestation, when asked about whether or not the camping trip is still up, your survivor respond to the kid saying that "life is about the journey", citing that their father taught them that and they are now passing on that wisdom onto the kid. The quest will then end with your survivor mentioning that they are a great father/mother to the kid, while citing that Max and Sarah would be proud of this.

"I am a great father/mother. Max and Sarah would be proud."

Making Amends: A Gift for [Kid] (A)[]

Note: This mission only comes up if you recruit the kid and did the [Survivor Name's] Camping Trip previously.

Your survivor would mention that if Max and Sarah were still alive, they'd want to keep their child happy. Your survivor thinks it is now their responsibility, since the kid is now alone and needs help. Your first task is to go to the store where Max used to stop by to buy chocolate bars for his kid while going to the bar in the past. After obtaining the Bag of Peanut Butter Chips, Your survivor brings it to the kid and the quest concludes after a few dialogue exchanges.

Making Amends: A Gift for [Kid] (B)[]

Note: This mission only comes up if you didn't recruit the kid previously.

Your survivor will feel bad about abandoning the kid and feel the need to at least take care of them. c chocolate in a form of a food rucksack, you will have to go back to the location where you first met and rescued them. They will not be happy to meet you again, however they will not be hostile. After giving them the chocolate, an awkward conversation ensues. At the end of the day they will remain rude to you and "let you live" for now.

Action Hero[]

Fast Cars[]

"Killing zombies is exciting, but it's not action-movie exciting. I have an idea to fix that."

Your survivor tells the community that they want to make killing zeds more exciting, so they decide to set different tasks to complete for their own entertainment. They start off their mission with a movie quote.

The first one starts with finding a 'badass ride'. A vehicle will spawn near your base that fits the survivor's needs. This can be a Maximilian, a Road Racer, a Legendre, a Police Cruiser, or even a Mega Max. After you get in the car, your task is to turn 5 zeds into fender meat. After you get the 5 roadkills, your survivor says the following:

"Time for a real challenge. Didn't somebody see a feral nearby earlier?"

Your next task is to find the Feral and grind it into the pavement. Killing the Feral will end the mission. You can keep the car for yourself afterwards and also receive 200 Influence as a reward.

Notes:

  • You don't necessarily have to run over the zombies and the Feral. Other methods will count as well, what matters is to eliminate the required amount of zeds.
  • Depending on your difficulty the spawned car can be from "pristine condition with a full tank" to "smoking and barely has any fuel".

House Breach[]

Your survivor comes up with their second task. They want to travel to a place full of zombies. Another movie quote can be heard from your survivor. A community member responds, telling that they don't support your little tasks.

When you arrive to the perfect location, you must kill all the zombies, heroically! A random Freak will also be at the location. After you eliminate all threats at the location, the mission ends. You receive 200 Influence as a reward.

The Infestation[]

Your survivor comes up with their third task. They want to clear out some infestations. Yet again they say another movie quote and your community still doesn't like what you're up to.

Your task is to travel to a nearby neighborhood and clear out 2 infestations. When you clear the first one, they ask you to quit it and go home, but your survivor refuses. After you clear out the second, the mission ends. Your survivor remains quiet. When your other member questions them about it, they say a last movie quote.

Additional Missions[]

After you finish all 3 episodes of the Action Hero missions, your survivor might come up with the following "Action Hero Returns" missions later on.

Buddy Cop[]

"I can't believe I'm saying this, but we could use a little more excitement around this place."

This mission is triggered by the community member who was initially against the your other survivor's action hero exploits. Your first task is to talk to your "action hero" to see if they're down with your plan.

Hey, what's up?

This place needs some excitement. Let's go get an action-hero fix, buddy-cop style!
(Add survivor as a follower)

Of course they're down, so your next objective is to travel to a Police Station to find a ride, which will be a Police Cruiser. The moment you get into the vehicle zombies start assaulting the Police Station. The plan changes, you decide to "destroy" them. The assaulting horde can include a Screamer and multiple Ferals. The action hero will initially be confused at their actions, before the antagonistic survivor blurts out a movie quote of their own, prompting laughter.

Once the Police Station is safe, the antagonistic survivor will once more say they're "getting too old for this shit". Job's well done, you must travel home afterwards. Once home, you need to wrap up with the survivor.

Y'know what? You can be my wingman any time.

Bullshit. You can be mine.

The mission ends afterwards. Your reward will be 200 Influence.

Your survivor's thoughts during the mission:

  • Starting the mission: I bet *survivor* could help me liven this place up a bit.

Explosive Consequences[]

"Well, I do love the smell of napalm in the morning. And I know where to find some."

Your survivor wants to blow some stuff up, so they decide to visit the neighbors to get some explosives or retrieve some from the supply locker.

Your task is to travel to the marked Enclave and buy 2 Napalm Grenades from them or collect 3 Napalm Grenades from the supply locker. After you acquire them, you must find a location with stuff worth exploding. This means a Plague Heart. After you take it out, the mission ends.

Note: You don't actually need to use Napalm for destroying the hearts. Killing the heart by any mean will complete the mission.

Looking for Trouble[]

"It's quiet out there... maybe too quiet. I should go on a patrol."

Your survivor thinks that it's too quiet out there, so they want to go on a patrol to check things out.

Your task is to visit a nearby neighborhood to see if everything is in order there. When you arrive, someone calls for help through the radio. As you travel to their location, you find a survivor in the middle of an infestation. After you save the dude/damsel in distress (heroically, of course), they tell you the following:

I thought I was done for. I'd like to give you something for your trouble.

  • You can accept the reward, or
  • you can refuse it like a real hero.

Either you choose the survivor will drop you a rucksack as a reward. The mission ends afterwards.

Your survivor's thoughts during the mission:

  • Starting the mission: In his heart, the hero knew he had no choice but to respond... to the call for action.
  • Ending the mission: It feels good to play the hero. I should do this more often!

Brother in Blue[]

Brother in Blue[]

"My brother worked as a cop in this town but I haven't seen him since the outbreak."

Your survivor tells the community that their step-brother was a police officer and served not far from their location. They want to search for their brother, hoping that maybe they can find him alive.

Your mission is to visit the Police Station where the brother was stationed before the outbreak. After arriving your task is to find clues that could tell you the whereabouts of the brother. You'll find a Tattered Duty Roster on which the brother's badge number will be present, meaning that he survived the outbreak. The mission ends afterwards and you receive 200 Influence for completing the mission.

Your survivor's thoughts during the mission:

  • Starting the mission: He was supposed to meet me at one of the refugee camps. But he never made it. He's my stepbrother. He's family. I have to find him. I'm the one who convinced him he should be a cop. If he's dead, it's my fault. Maybe there's a sign of what happened to him at his old precinct.
  • Arriving to the precinct: That's his old station. I should check the duty roster to see where he was last assigned.
  • Finding the Tattered Duty Roster: My brother's shield number is on this thing! He survived the outbreak! Now I just need to figure out how to translate copspeak.

Seeking the Brother[]

"I finally made sense of the duty roster in my brother's precinct. I think I know how to find him, if he's alive."

Your survivor managed to decode the Duty Roster found in the previous mission. According to the roster the brother was assigned to patrol a nearby neighborhood after the outbreak, so your next mission is to go there and track down their vehicle. After you find the Police Cruiser you'll have to search the nearby sites for the brother.

There are three outcomes when you find the brother.

  • The brother became a zombie, and you are required to put him down.
  • The brother committed suicide to prevent himself from becoming a zombie.
  • The brother is alive and well, and he reunites with your survivor.

If he committed suicide, the mission ends when you pick up the note.

"After all this, he's gone. I was just trying to think I wasn't alone out here. Sleep easy my brother, sleep easy."

If you managed to find the Brother alive, your task is to kill the zombies attacking him then take him to your base. He tells you on the way home that the other surviving cops went south, because they think that the government's reforming down there, but he didn't want to leave until he finds out if your survivor is still alive or not (and the Tax situation is better up there).

When you arrive home, you get the chance to recruit him. You can also refuse him to join you in case you don't need a new member. The mission ends afterwards.

  • If you recruit him he'll always have two Traits: 'Police Officer' and 'Your survivor's Brother'. He can also have other Traits too, but they're randomized.
  • If you refuse to recruit them he will leave the map.

Note: The Police Cruiser will have some of the following items in it:

  • Sack of Police Ammo (Ammo Rucksack)
  • Police Baton
  • Bag of Snacks
  • 3x Bandages
  • 3x Flashbang Grenades
  • Gas Can
  • 2x Smoke Grenades

Your survivor's thoughts during the mission:

  • Starting the mission: That duty roster I found said my brother was last assigned to patrol a neighborhood near here right after the outbreak. He was in Car 55. If I can track down his car, maybe I can find him.
  • Arriving to the neighborhood: The duty roster said my brother was in Patrol Car 55. It's got to be here somewhere.
  • Finding the car: That's his patrol car! Same number as from the duty roster. He came here. Maybe he's still alive!
  • Finding him dead: Oh God! That's his body! That's him!
  • Finding him alive: I can't believe I found you. Let's get out of here.

Additional Missions[]

After you find out what happened to your survivor's Brother, you might get the following missions later on.

Brother's Keeper[]

Note: This mission only appears if you find your Brother alive in Seeking the Brother, but refuse to recruit them.

"Hey neighbors, I think you've got someone over there who was looking for their brother, a cop. We should talk."

Someone contacts your community that they want to talk with your survivor who were seeking their step-brother. When you arrive to their location and talk to them, they tell you the following:

Hey. Your brother came by and left this note. Hope it makes sense to you.

They'll hand you over a Note, on which your brother asks you to go to a memorable place from your childhood. Your next task is to go to the Gas Station they probably had in mind. When you get there you must search it for the next clue. You'll find another Note, telling you there should be a car parked nearby with the next clue. The car will be a Desperado, and it's trunk will have the third Note. Next you need to go to a Warehouse where the Halloween party was held when your survivor became 16 years old. The warehouse will have 4 gifts left by the step-brother. A last Note will be at the Warehouse, stating that they left town and have no hard feelings for turning them down. The mission ends after you find all 4 gifts (including the note).

"After all this, he's gone. I was just starting to think I wasn't all alone out here."

Note: Possible gifts left by your brother:

  • Advanced Suppressor
  • Food Rucksack
  • 1x Thermite Grenade

Your survivor's thoughts during the mission:

  • Taking the first note: "Go to our favorite place we went when running around with dad..." He must mean that gas station by our house. That idiot's sending me on a damn treasure hunt?"
  • Getting close to the Gas Station: "Well, this should be it. Our secret candy stop with dad. Now what am I looking for?"
  • Taking the second note: "The next clue! He left me a car? Maybe he isn't an idiot after all."
  • Getting close to the car: "Of course, a Desperado. I should have known he'd pick that. Very funny, big bro. Same car I wrecked in high school."
  • Taking the third note: "That Halloween party at the Warehouse scared the living shit out of me. I wonder what he left there?"
  • Getting close to the Warehouse: "I still have nightmares about this place. That bastard."
  • Picking up the gifts: "Aww man, you shouldn't have, brother. You really were the best."

Brother's Partner (A)[]

Note: This variant of the mission describes a version where the brother couldn't be recruited. If you managed to recruit him, see Brother's Partner (B)

"I just looked at my brother's duty roster again. His partner might still be out there. He'd want me to find her."

Your survivor tells the community that according to the duty roster their brother's partner was on a day off when he died, so they assume that she is still alive. Her address is on the duty roster, so they decide to check their place.

When you arrive, the house looks empty but you'll find a Note left by the partner. As it turns out, the brother cop and she were dating. The note also says that your survivor's mother died in the outbreak and she is staying at her home, waiting for your brother to arrive.

As you arrive to your survivor's family home, she'll be there and under attack by zombies. After you save her, she asks you about the brother. As you break the bad news to her, you also get the chance to recruit her to your community.

If you took her in, you must take her home to complete the mission.

Note: She is guaranteed to have a law enforcement-related trait.

Your survivor's thoughts during the mission:

  • Starting the mission: "According to my step-brother's duty roster, his partner was out the day he got killed. Good day of work to miss. Maybe she's still alive."
  • Arriving to her place: "This is the address listed, but it looks empty. Maybe I can find info on what happened to her."
  • Picking up the note: "Sweets?" My brother was getting it on with his partner? Guess I couldn't avoid going home forever. This letter she sent my brother said she was staying at our mom's house. Maybe she's still there."

Brother's Partner (B)[]

Note: This variant of the mission describes a version where the brother could be recruited. If you didn't manage to recruit him, see Brother's Partner (A)

"Hey Bro, there's a chance my old partner survived. If you're up for it, I'm going to try to find her."

Your survivor tells his brother that he thinks his partner survived the outbreak, and enlists his brother's help to go find her. After some brief exchange with each other, they embark onwards to his partner's house,

When you arrive, the house looks empty but you'll find a Note left by the partner. As it turns out, the brother cop and she were dating. The note also says that your survivor's mother died in the outbreak and she is staying at her home, waiting for your brother to arrive. The brothers will have a playful exchange on what type of partner is she to the brother, to which the brother cop replies: "Different kind of partner".

As you arrive to your survivor's family home, she'll be there and under attack by zombies. After you save her, she would express delight in seeing the brother cop alive again. After their reunion, you must return to your base with the partner along with your brother.

Upon the trio's return, you will get the chance to recruit her to your community.

Note: She is guaranteed to have a law enforcement-related trait.

Your survivor's thoughts during the mission:

  • Starting the mission: "{Survivor Name} wasn't with us the day we got attacked. If she's out there, I've got to find her."
  • Enlisting the brother: "Thanks, bro. Glad we're finally putting this family back together."
  • Replying to brother's remark: "Different kind of partner, bro. Look, we've got to go back home."
  • Finding his partner: "I'm so glad I found you, babe. Let's get you somewhere safe."
  • Recruiting his partner: "I love you, babe. Why don't you stay with us?" or Not recruiting his partner: "I'm glad you're alive, but I think we should see other people. You know, apocalypse and everything."

Eagle Eye[]

This Personal Goal always kicks off with Eagle Eye's Stash, but there's no scripted order of its other missions.

Eagle Eye's Stash[]

"Anybody ever read that book about Eagle Eye, the army sniper in Afghanistan? He grew up around here. And I bet someone with his skills is still alive. We should try to find him."

Your survivor tells the community about a local army veteran called Eagle Eye. They assume that the sniper is still alive. They also read in his book that he had a farm nearby, so they decide to check it out, thinking that even if he didn't make it, your community could use his gear.

"Okay, I'm heading for Eagle Eye's farm. Hopefully I'll be coming home with a new sniper for the team."

When you reach his barn, your task is to search for his gear. Your primary objective is to find 6x .50 AP Rounds.

"Hmm. There's a ton of fifty-cal rounds here, but no rifle ... If his rifle's gone, he might still be out there."

You get another objective to load up on ammo after, however the mission ends as soon as you leave the barn. You also receive 200 Influence as a reward.

"Eagle Eye probably kept his rifle with him. I need to find out what happened to him after the outbreak."

Note: The mission also spawns 3x Frag Genades, 3x Flashbang Grenades, and a Rucksack of Ammo at the barn for you to find. You can also find a Hand-written Letter written for Eagle Eye by his partner. These items will despawn when you leave the barn (end the mission), so make sure to find and grab them.

Bug: If you have .50 AP rounds in your inventory when you start the mission the lines about finding the rounds at the barn will be said prematurely. The mission will also reduce to traveling to the barn then leaving.

Your survivor's thoughts during the mission:

  • Starting the mission: Eagle Eye was some local dude named *name*. His book said he had a farm around here. Even if he didn't make it, I'd love to get my hands on his gear.
  • Completing the mission: Eagle Eye probably kept his rifle with him. I need to find out what happened to him after the outbreak.

Illegal Arms[]

"Eagle Eye used to buy semi-legal explosives from a black market dealer near here. We should go check it out."

Your survivor tell the group about how Eagle Eye used to purchase explosives. They want to check out the store for any leftover explosives stashed around.

When you arrive to the store your task is to search for evidence of the hidden stash. You'll find a Scratched Notepad, revealing the location of the stash for you.

"I found a map. It looks like Eagle Eye was buying his explosives from a dealer in this area."

Your next task is to travel to the hidden stash and scavenge it. When you arrive, you'll find another survivor already looking for the stash. They'll be hostile towards you. After you take care of them and find the stash, it'll have 9 Pipe Bombs, 3 Willie Pete Grenades, and a Professional Suppressor. The mission ends when you grab the supplies.

"Hey, it looks like that dealer's last sale of explosives never went through. Lucky us."

Note: The hostile survivor you found at the location will always have a GSG-W and 60x 5.56 mm Rounds on them.

Last Stand[]

"I read something that may help us find Eagle Eye, if he's alive. I should check it out."

Your survivor might have a lead on Eagle Eye's location. When you visited his barn, you found a police bulletin calling everyone with military training to defend the local precinct, so they assume if Eagle Eye is alive, he probably went there.

Your task is to travel to the Police Station where Eagle Eye may have helped defend in the first days of the Outbreak. When you get near to the location, your survivor tells the following:

"The book on Eagle Eye said he slept with his rifle. If he came to defend this place, he would have had it with him."

As you enter the Police Station your survivor tells the following:

"It looks like somebody put up a serious last stand here. I doubt anybody could have survived ... I'm not giving up yet. Eagle Eye might be dead, but I still might be able to find his rifle."

When you search the Police Station you'll find Eagle Eye's M99X1 Timberwolf rifle. The mission ends afterwards. You also receive 200 Influence as a reward.

"I found it! Eagle Eye's rifle. I can't believe I'm really holding this in my hands. It's beautiful."

Notes:

  • The rifle will also have a Photo-Copied Bulletin next to it.
  • A few freaks might spawn nearby the police precinct as you arrive.

Your survivor's thoughts during the mission:

  • Starting the mission: That police bulletin I found said they called everyone with military training to defend the local precinct. If *name* was alive, I'm sure he went there.

Sharp Shooting[]

"I think maybe it's time I put Eagle Eye's rifle to the test."

Your survivor wants to use Eagle Eye's rifle to take out a Juggernaut. A location gets marked on the map where you can find a Juggernaut. After you take it down, the mission ends. You also receive 500 Influence as a reward.

"Guess I'm no Eagle Eye, but I still took it down!"

Notes:

  • This mission only comes up if you already completed Last Stand.
  • Taking out any Juggernaut will suffice. You don't even have to use the rifle either, any method will do. The task is just killing one.
  • If you ignore the mission and it expires, it should appear again later.

Your survivor's thoughts during the mission:

  • Starting the mission: Now's my chance. What would Eagle Eye do? He wouldn't wait around when there's a juggernaut out there. That much I know.

Unknown mission[]

[Placeholder]

Explanation: There's a mission related to the Eagle Eye questline which we didn't manage to cover yet due to not encountering it. Your community spots a sniper in the area, hoping it's Eagle Eye. Your task is to find them. They'll be living at a Cell Tower. Once you get there it turns out they're not Eagle Eye, however they offer assistance if you give them a Rucksack of Ammo. After completing the mission they would provide you with the Rooftop Sniper Enclave Benefit.

Lost and Found[]

Search for the Mace[]

"My son used to drag me to Renaissance fairs, back before the outbreak. When people still did things like that. One time, he bought me this big mace. He called it 'bad-ass'. It was his last gift to me, but I lost it."

Your survivor tells the community about his last gift from their son. They decide to give a try to find it.

They remember seeing the first zombies on their way home right after their last Ren Faire, so they assume that they lost the mace during all that chaos, so they want to check out a location where they stopped during the way home.

"My son and I came through here on our way back from the Ren fair. If only I'd taken a different route!"

As you search the location for the mace, you'll stumble upon a Note about Mace. It was written by somebody who found it and saved their life. They want to return it in case you find the note (and you did), so they wrote their address on the note too, however it is blurry and illegible.

"My son would be glad that mace made a difference to somebody... but who are they? Where did they end up?"

Your survivor's thoughts during the mission:

  • Starting the mission: It was on the way home from the last Ren Faire that we saw our first zombies. I bet I lost the mace during all the chaos.
  • Getting to the location: This looks familiar. Maybe I left the mace lying around nearby.

Final Resting Place[]

"I think I've tracked the person who found my mace to a few possible places."

Your survivor managed to mark a couple locations which can possibly be the address wrote on the previously found note, so they decide to check them out.

As you check out the locations, one of them looks like someone is living there, however a Feral is prowling around it. After you take out the Feral it get's clear that the survivor who found your mace is dead. Looting their body will give you the Ancestral Mace you were looking for.

"I wish my son could see this... but as long as I carry that mace I suppose he's here protecting me."

The Leftovers[]

"My son's mace wasn't the only decent weapon at that last Ren fair. I could probably arm our whole community."

Your survivor decides to visit the last Ren fair's location to see if there's any other weapons left that your community could use.

As you arrive, the location will be filled with zombies. A juggernaut can also be around. Your task is to find 3 medieval-era weapons at the location. Once you find all 3, the mission ends.

"I can't wait to get these back to base. We'll be outfitted like an army! From the thirteen-hundreds, I mean."

Note: The three weapons you're going to find are a Kama, a Mace, and a Replica Bastard Sword.

Your survivor's thoughts during the mission:

  • Starting the mission: The sets and the decor are probably gone by now, but I should still be able to find some good steel.

My Aunt, the Prepper[]

My Aunt, the Prepper[]

"I had this aunt who lived somewhere around here and fancied herself a survivalist. I wonder if she made it this long."

Your survivor tells the community that their aunt was a prepper and maybe they remember where she lived. They want to find out if she's still alive since her skills would be a great addition to the group.

Your mission is to go to her house. When you arrive, she's nowhere to be found, so you must start searching the house for clues. You'll find a Bloody Note and as it turns out it's the aunt's prepper plan written in code. The mission ends and will be continued after your survivor manages to decipher the note. You receive 200 Influence for completing the mission.

"I found one of my aunt's prepper plans! It's in code, but if I decipher it maybe I can figure out where she went."

Your survivor's thoughts during the mission:

  • Starting the mission: I think I remember where my aunt lived. If she's still around, she could be a useful addition to our group.
  • Arriving to her place: It's been a while. I wonder if she'll even recognize me.
  • Entering her house: Nobody's been here in a while, but I remember she kept detailed survival plans hidden around her house.

What is the Aunt's BOV?[]

"On my aunt's prepper plan, there's a string of numbers next to 'BOV.' The numbers look like GPS coordinates."

Your survivor managed to decipher some of the information found on the prepper plan. They think they found a GPS coordinate marking the location of something called a BOV, so they decide to check it out.

Your mission is to go to the marked location. When you arrive, it turns out that the BOV is an acronym and stands for "bug-out vehicle". (The vehicle will always be a Vagabond.) Then your survivor wants to check out it's trunk to see what's inside. After taking a look, you have to drive the BOV to your base.

"I barely knew my aunt, but wherever she is, I hope she appreciates that we'll put this to good use."

Arriving to your base will end the mission.

"We have my aunt to thank for the car and the supplies. I just hope she's still out there somewhere."

Note: The BOV will always contain the following items:

  • 17x .22 cal Rounds
  • Gas Can
  • Improvised Suppressor
  • 3x Nutritious Snacks

It can also contain one or two of the following items:

  • another Gas Can
  • 1x Bandage
  • 1x Bottle of Painkillers
  • Machete
  • Toolkit

Your survivor's thoughts during the mission:

  • Starting the mission: I know how to follow these coordinates in my aunt's prepper plan. I wonder what they lead to?
  • Finding the BOV: Of course! I bet "BOV" stands for "bug-out vehicle." I wonder what she stashed in the trunk?

My Prepper Aunt's Campsite[]

"I've deciphered more of my aunt's prepper plan. I think I know where she went."

Your survivor finds another set of coordinates on the prepper plan which might mark the Aunt's current location, so they decide to to check it out.

Your mission is to go to the marked location. As you arrive, the zombie situation is out of control. After you eliminate all of them, you find the Aunt's dead body. If you search it, you'll find a Prepper's 10/22 rifle which belonged to the Aunt.

"Dammit, she's... gone. If I'd only deciphered the plan faster, maybe I could have saved her. Now all I can do is to make sure the supplies she left behind are put to good use. It's what she'd want."

Note: If you already have another Prepper's 10/22 in your survivor's inventory when you begin the mission, it instantly gets completed.

Your survivor's thoughts during the mission:

  • Starting the mission: If I'm lucky, this other string of numbers in my aunt's prepper plan will lead me to her!

Aunt Prepper's .22 Love[]

"Y'know, my aunt swore by her twenty-two. I wonder what made that gun so special to her?"

Your survivor wants to practice shooting with their Aunt's gun.

Your mission is to simply kill 15 zombies with the Prepper's 10/22. As you start racking up the kills, they comment about the gun, thinking about how accurate and light it is, while also making relatively less noise than guns with other calibers. The mission ends once you killed enough zeds.

Note: If you don't have the Prepper's 10/22 anymore, other .22 weapons will do too. In case you have no .22 weapons at all when this mission appears, you must purchase one from an Enclave. One of the Enclaves will be marked on the map, having a 10/22 Carbine for sale.

Your survivor's thoughts during the mission:

  • Starting the mission: It's time for me to get some practice with small-caliber guns, like the ones my aunt used.
  • Not having the gun equipped: I think we have a Prepper's 10/22 in our supply locker. I should take it out for a spin.
  • Picking up the gun: Time to see what this little Prepper's 10/22 can do.
  • Killing 2 zeds: I'm sure digging the accuracy on this gun.
  • Killing 5 zeds: The twenty-two is certainly lighter than some other guns I've used. Doesn't draw as many zombies, either.
  • Killing 10 zeds: It also doesn't tear up the meat like the bigger calibers. Could be great for taking smaller game, if there was any around.
  • Killing 15 zeds: Light, accurate, and relatively quiet. I guess the twenty-two really is a pretty good apocalypse gun. Seems like my aunt had the right idea. I shouldn't be surprised.

Police Training[]

Police Training[]

"I knew this old cop, Chief Jackson. He could help us, if he's still alive. I could try to find him."

Your survivor tells the community about Chief Jackson, a cop who was beloved by the locals. They assume that Chief Jackson is still alive, so they want to check out his old home.

Your task is to travel to where Chief Jackson used to live. As you arrive, the following dialogue happens:

"Dammit. Chief Jackson's place looks abandoned."

"Check it out anyway. Maybe he's got some gear in there we could use." ― Community member

Your next objective is to search for police-grade weapons left behind by Chief Jackson. The house might have some armored and regular zombies inside. As you search the house, you'll find a Police Chief's Baton. Picking it up will end the mission. You also receive 200 Influence as a reward.

"Shit. I never saw Chief Jackson without this baton. If it's here... I don't think he made it."

Notes:

  • The mission will also spawn a Flashbang Grenade and 3 Road Flares for you to find in the house.
  • In case you already have a Police Chief's Baton when the mission appears, it will auto-complete instantly.

Your survivor's thoughts during the mission:

  • Starting the mission: Everybody loved Chief Jackson; he was a legend. And legends never die. He's got to be out there somewhere. I'll check his old place. I remember he lived at that *location*. I hope he's still there.

Chief Jackson's Cruiser[]

"Last time I was out surveying I spotted an old cruiser. I'm pretty sure it belonged to Chief Jackson. He always kept it loaded with weapons. We might find something useful."

Your survivor tells the community that they might've found Chief Jackson's old Police Cruiser and it's probably loaded with weapons, so they want to check it out.

Your first task is to travel to the area to search for the vehicle. When you arrive, the cruiser's location will have some bloaters around. You get an optional objective to check out its trunk. It will contain 30x 12g shells, 6 road flares and an Envelope Note.

The mission ends once you enter the Cruiser. You receive 200 Influence as a reward.

"The first time I met the Chief was in the back seat of this thing. I got picked up for breaking and entering. I was 17. Another cop might have come down hard on me, but we just talked. He turned my life around. And now I've got his car! Shit yeah!"

Note: Reading the letter reveals that it was actually written by Chief Jackson, possibly addressed to a friend or neighbor. He states that he moved east to stay with her granddaughter, so it's possible that he's still alive.

Your survivor's thoughts during the mission:

  • Starting the mission: When Chief Jackson found out how broke we were, he started paying me to wash his cruiser. I'll never forget him. Or his car. That cruiser I saw was definitely his.

The Old Lawman's Viper[]

"I found a letter in Chief Jackson's car with his address. It was recent so maybe he's still alive. I should go take a look."

Your survivor tells the community about the letter they found in the previous mission. The letter had an address on it which is presumably marks the grandchild's home, so they decide to check it out.

As you arrive to the location, you notice that the house is infested. After clearing out the infestation there's no dead bodies inside the house nor reanimated humans between the zombies. As you search the house, you stumble upon an Old Lawman's Viper; Chief Jackson's old revolver.

"Chief Jackson saved my life when I was a kid and he just saved it again. His gun was legendary. I hope I live long enough to deserve it. Time to start training."

Additional Missions[]

After you recover Chief Jackson's gear, your survivor might come up with the following missions later on.

Cops and Robbers[]

"I've been working on my police skills ever since I found Chief Jackson's gear. I should be the one to go help them."

An Enclave calls for help through the radio. Your survivor decides to help them out.

When you arrive, one of them tells you that someone beat up their sibling then stole all of their food. They ask you to find the robber and retrieve their food.

  • You can refuse to help, thus cancelling the mission without any reward, or
  • you can help them out.

When you find the robber, they'll tell you that they only robbed the enclave because they were starving.

  • You can force them to give the food back, or
  • let them get away with the food.

If you choose to force them to give the food back, they'll either hand it over and leave or become hostile. If you let the robber get away with the food, your task will be to get food from somewhere else.

Either you returned their food or brought another rucksack for them, you must check on the sibling's injuries next. You can offer to give them a medicine rucksack to assist their recovery. Giving them the Meds will end the mission. The enclave will stick around afterwards and instantly becomes Allied with you.

If you give them the food but don't offer to give them medicine, the mission ends and the enclave leaves the area.

Changing your mind about giving them the food will cancel the mission.

Parole Officer[]

"Everybody deserves a shot at redemption. If I were a real cop, I'd be looking to help people from all walks of life."

Your survivor remembers that Chief Jackson always helped everyone and that he had a friend who was a drug addict. They decide to look for them.

Your task is to check their old home. You find no one there, however while searching the house you'll stumble upon an Addict's Journal which hints you that they might be out looking for drugs. Next you have to check out the nearby drugstores for them. After you find them, you can help them out with a Medicine Rucksack or force them to give up on looking for drugs.

  • If you give them Medicine, they will reward you with a Medicine Textbook.
  • If you force them to leave, the mission ends without a reward.

Recover a Classic[]

Recover a Classic[]

"I'm tired of just getting by. We need art. We need stories. Otherwise, what's the point of living?"

Your survivor tells the community that their favorite story of all time has got to be the "Gentleman Cadaver". They remember a place that traded rare comics before the Outbreak, so they decide to check the place out.

When you arrive, the location is swarmed by zombies. After you it clear out and search the store, you find the torn off cover of the comic you're looking for. It also has a note on it left by another survivor, stating that they took the comic and if you want to trade for it, they'll hear your offer. It also has the survivor's address on it, so you decide to visit them.

When you make contact with them, they'll tell you that they'll hold on to it for now, until they really need somthing from you.

"I was willing to trade practically anything. But I just know that they want to hold it over my head. Forever."

Rescuing the Collector[]

"Hello? If you still want my copy of 'Gentleman Cadaver', you may want to come over and help me out."

The survivor calls for your help through the radio, urging you to get there as fast as you can.

When you arrive, they'll be under attack by zombies. After you save them, they ask you to take them home.

  • You can refuse to do so, thus cancelling the mission, or
  • you can agree to take them home.

If you took them home, they'll tell you that they don't have the comic on them, but have it stashed at another location. They promise to call you as soon as they put their hands on it.

If you cancel the mission... (needs testing)

Collecting from the Collector[]

"You've had plenty of time to track down that comic you promised me. It's time to pay up."

Your community member calls the survivor about the comic. They think the collector had enough time to pick it up, so they decide to visit them. When you arrive, they tell you the following:

I need just one more favor. I know where to find a first edition of Huck Finn. Bring that here and we have a deal.

  • You can refuse to do so, thus cancelling the mission, or
  • you can agree to get it for them.

As you approach the book's location you notice that a Juggernaut is around. After you obtain the book you can either

  • trade it for the comic, or
  • keep it for yourself, cancelling the mission.

If you chose to trade it with the survivor, they finally give you the 'Gentleman Cadaver' (Luxury Item) for your efforts.

"Finally, 'Gentleman Cadaver' is mine! I just hope it's as good as I remember."

Additional Missions[]

After you get your own copy of 'Gentleman Cadaver', your survivor might come up with the following missions later on.

The Search for "The Knowledge"[]

"I used to have this book called 'The Knowledge,' about rebuilding after an apocalypse. I should track down a copy."

Your survivor tells the community that they used to own a book about post-apocalyptic survival. They know a warehouse where an online bookseller used to store their books, so they decide to check it out, maybe they can find a copy of it there.

As you search through the place, you can't find the book, however you stumble upon a Bookseller's Order List. According to it a copy of the book was delivered to a nearby address before the Outbreak hit. If you travel to the address and loot the location, you'll find a Copy of The Knowledge, by Lewis Dartnell.

"'How to rebuild civilization in the aftermath of a cataclysm.' Perfect!"

The Quest for Excadaver[]

"You guys remember that amazing comic I was obsessing over, right? 'Gentleman Cadaver?' It had this kickass sword, and I swear I saw someone carrying a replica of it the other day. I should track them down!"

Your survivor tells the community that they saw someone carrying a replica Excadaver the other day, so they decide to track down the survivor.

After you find them and ask them about the sword, they tell you that they got it from a guy who made swords based on movies and stuff. He's gone now, but they tell you where he worked. When you arrive to the metalworker's garage, a Feral and some other zombies will be at it. As you search the location, you'll find an Excadaver.

"It's perfect--just like in the comics. I will proudly sully it with blood of the undead!"

The Dessert[]

Note: This Personal Goal only seems to appear if you have someone with basic or specialized Cooking skill (including someone who learned Cooking) and a Kitchen or related facility in your base.

The First Ingredient[]

"If I whipped up some of my famous dessert, I bet it would really lift some spirits around here."

Your survivor tells the community that they have a special dessert they'd like to prepare for them. They want it to be a surprise, so they decide to look for some chocolate instead of using some of the community's.

Your first task is to go to a restaurant which might still have some chocolate. You'll find a Bag of Chocolate Chips there. Once you found it, you must head back home and deposit it into your Locker. The mission ends afterwards.

"That's only the first ingredient, but if I can pull off this dessert you're all gonna love it!"

Note: Using an Outpost's locker to deposit it will also suffice.

Your survivor's thoughts during the mission:

  • Starting the mission: My dessert needs a few key ingredients, starting with chocolate. To keep this a fun surprise, I shouldn't use anything we have on hand. I remember seeing a restaurant that might have some chocolate still lying around.
  • Arriving to the restaurant: There will be chocolate chips in there! I'm sure of it.
  • Picking up the Chocolate Chips: Most great desserts begin with chocolate!

The Next Ingredient[]

"Finding the next ingredient for my famous dessert should be simple, I hope."

Your survivor is ready to head out to gather the dessert's next ingredient. They want to find some honey to give the right amount of sweetness to their dessert.

The objective in this mission is to visit a pub which is supposed to have some. In the pub you'll find a Case of Honey (Food Rucksack) which you have to deposit into your Storage facility. The mission ends afterwards.

"I've always loved making desserts to share. I promise that I won't let the end of the world steal that simple pleasure."

Your survivor's thoughts during the mission:

  • Starting the mission: A drizzle of honey should add just the right amount of sweetness to my dessert. I bet I could find honey in a bar near here.
  • Picking up the Honey: Lucky for me, honey never spoils. That's pretty handy in an apocalypse.

The Final Ingredient[]

"There's just one last ingredient that my signature dessert still needs, and I'm not telling you what it is."

Only one ingredient is missing for the special dessert - candy bars! - and your survivor wants to collect some. They remember a minimart that might still have candy bars, so your task is to go there and look for the sweets. You'll find a Case of Fancy Candy Bars in the store. After you deposit it into your supply locker, the mission ends.

"Guys, my perfect dessert is so close I can taste it. I just need the right moment to unveil it."

Note: Using an Outpost's locker to deposit it will also suffice.

Your survivor's thoughts during the mission:

  • Starting the mission: Now for the secret ingredient: candy bars! I remember a place that might still have some lying around.
  • Arriving to the minimart: Before the Outbreak, I made this dessert for the important people in my life. Seems like a fitting tradition to carry over.
  • Picking up the Candy Bars: My dessert isn't exactly health food, but it seems like we're past worrying about that.

Preparation Day[]

"Well, I have all the ingredients I need. I should get started making my signature dessert."

Your survivor is ready to prepare their dessert. Your task is simple, use your base's Kitchen and prepare some snacks. The mission ends afterwards.

"I guarantee you've never tasted a dessert so sweet. And the calories will come in handy!"

Notes:

  • Preparing Nutritious Snacks will also suffice for the mission.
  • Your community will receive a morale bonus called The homemade dessert was a big hit around camp! for completing the mission, providing +15 morale for everyone for 30 minutes.

Your survivor's thoughts during the mission:

  • Starting the mission: Time to make my dessert! Every now and then, it's nice to get something done without leaving the base.

Thank You, Chef[]

We really should find a nice way to thank our dessert-making chef. I may have an idea on that.

One of your survivors wants to give back for the dessert your other survivor prepared. They think some seeds would be the perfect gift so they could grow their own ingredients to cook with. Your task is to travel to an area which most likely has some seeds.

When you enter the area, you'll have 3 locations to search for the seeds. Once you find the Box of Seeds, your next objective is to go back home and give it to your chef. The mission ends afterwards.

"For me? You shouldn't have! Thank you so much. I can't wait to cook with them once they're grown!"

Note: Picking up a Box of Seeds from your Locker won't suffice for this mission.

Your survivor's thoughts during the mission:

  • Starting the mission: I bet *chef* would love some fresh ingredients to cook with. Some seeds would make a nice thank-you for them! The *name* area might have some good places to search.
  • Getting to the area: Before the apocalypse, I bet most people didn't think about how important seeds are. But now we depend on them to grow food, or even medicine. Kinda like the old days.
  • Picking up the Seeds: *Chef* and I don't agree on everything, but I hope this gift shows them how much we appreciate their hard work keeping us well fed.

The Greatest Song of All Time[]

The Drummer[]

"You know, before the outbreak I wrote the greatest song of all time. Been trying to find those lyrics ever since."

Your survivor tells the following line to your community. Another community member assures them that a song like that would be great for morale, so they set out to find it.

Your first task is to go where your old drummer was living before the Outbreak, maybe they gave the lyrics to them. When you arrive to their old home, you find them alive but under attack, so you have to save them. After the area is safe, the drummer asks you for a favor:

I bet you're here for that song we wrote, but I need to find something first. Can you watch my back for a minute?

  • You can agree to defend them while they're looking around, or
  • you can tell them that you should get somewhere safe.

If you agreed to defend them, you have to keep them safe for 2 minutes. As they rummage through the location, they'll drop you some items to keep.

When the timer's up, your drummer says the following:

Found it! This is the album that got me into music. Jackie T's 'Ragtime Blow Out!'

Your survivor won't be happy about it and asks the drummer about the lyrics. The drummer doesn't know, and asks for a place to stay. (This part gets skipped if you rush leaving their former home.) After you take them to your base, you can decide whether you recruit them or not. The mission ends afterwards.

Whether you took them in or not they'll tell you that they gave the lyrics to one of the bass players. If you recruit them they will have the Drummer Trait, which specializes their fighting in Striking and gives them the Music skill.

Note: The drummer will drop 3 items for you while scavenging their old place. The following items can be dropped by them:

  • Bottle of ScentBlock
  • Cup of Coffee
  • Dose of Zedeye
  • Molotov
  • Rucksack of Food
  • Smoke Grenade
  • Standard Bolt

The Bassist[]

"Hey, I think I figured out which bass player has my song lyrics. I'm going after them."

Your survivors figures out which bassist might have the lyrics. They also remember where the bass player lived, so they decide to make a visit. When you get to the location, you find a group settling there. When you ask about the bass player, they'll tell you that the bassist went to a "rehearsal space".

"Of course! That's where I wrote the song. Thanks!"

When you get there, you'll find the bassist dead. After you search the location, you'll find the Song Lyrics on Notebook Paper. After you pick the lyrics up, the mission ends.

"You died looking for this song. The world didn't deserve you. Or my song. I'll never play it again. Goodbye, friend."

Your survivor's thoughts during the mission:

  • Starting the mission: *Bassist* was our bass player when I wrote that song. I must have left the lyrics with them! Last I remember they were living with the *enclave*.
  • Arriving to the location: This is where *bassist* was living. Looks like some other people moved in.

Additional Missions[]

After you find the lyrics, you might get the following missions later.

Talent Search[]

Note: This mission only appears if you recruited the Drummer in The Drummer mission.

"We need a lead vocalist for our band, and I may know just where to find one."

The Drummer wants to find someone they think would be a great addition for your community, in hopes they could convince your songwriter to get the band back together.

Your first task is to talk with the songwriter. They actually like the idea and start following you. Next, you must travel to the last known location of the mysterious singer. When you arrive, you need to search the area for the singer. They should be in one of the buildings next to your destination.

Hint: Pay attention to your drummer's thought when starting the mission. The singer will be at a location according to the thought.

"That's it! That's the voice we're looking for!"

After you find them, you must talk with the singer. They start following you afterwards. As you arrive home with them, you need to talk with them about joining your community. Recruiting them will earn you a survivor with a singing-related trait. They also become a Citizen. Refusing to recruit them will make the singer leave the map. The mission ends afterwards.

The Drummer's thoughts during the mission:

  • Starting the mission: I can't get that angelic voice I heard by the *location* out of my head. If *songwriter* could hear it, they'd want to get the band back together! I should go talk to them.

The Stash[]

The Stash[]

"So listen, I used to work for this dude who could get pharmaceuticals without prescription. Not street drugs. Like painkillers and sleep aids, stuff we could use. What do you think?"

Your survivor tells the community that they used to work as a distributor for someone who could get pharmaceuticals without prescription, so they decide to bring some meds for the community.

Your mission is to travel to the restaurant where your survivor used to pick up the prescription drugs. After finding it you must return home to deposit the meds.

Before you would do so, one of your community members wants to talk with you about the drugs.

I've seen what drugs do. If you want to bring them into our community, we might have trouble.

Sorry you feel that way, but why don't you let everyone deal with the apocalypse in their own way?

Talking to them is optional, however it can affect the upcoming missions. After you deposit the meds to your Storage, the mission ends.

The Barn[]

"I just thought of this one spot where my friend T-Dog used to store his medicinal supply. I should check it out."

Your survivor tells the community that they remember that T-Dog used to store his drugs in a Barn, so they decide to check it out, maybe you can find something left there.

When you arrive, they remember coming there once with another distributor, Anthony. They wonder why T-Dog trusted him since he always "lost" the supplies. You'll find a Bottle of Strong Painkillers and a Medicine Rucksack in the barn.

"There wasn't as much as I'd hoped but these will do some real good."

Before you would deposit the rucksack, one of your community members wants to talk with you again.

Look, I don't know how to feel about having a drug dealer staying here.

Well, I don't know how I feel about living with a square. How about we both forget the past and look ahead?

Talking to them is optional, however it can affect the upcoming missions. After you deposit the meds to your Storage, the mission ends.

Your survivor's thoughts during the mission:

  • Starting the mission: T-Dog kept a lot of supply at the Barn. I hope there's something left. Come on, where's the good stuff? I know it's here somewhere.
  • Arriving to the barn: I remember this place. I came here with that other dealer Anthony once. He was always "losing" T-Dog's supply. I don't know why T-Dog trusted him.

The Thing About Anthony[]

You hear a conversation between your survivors. The one disapproving the previous pharmaceutical findings says the following:

Hey listen, we need medicine but I don't know how I feel about another stash from 'C-Dog.'

"T-Dog. And I know where he used to live. Might be a lot of supply there."

Your survivor remembers that T-Dog never kept his supplies at his home, but thinks that the zombie apocalypse changed that. Your task is to check out his house. As you search his place for a clue to the location of his hidden pharmaceuticals supply you'll find a Weathered Note left by Anthony, telling that he took the meds T-Dog owed him. He also tells that he's at his spot in the woods.

When you arrive to his campsite, you notice that Anthony is dead and reanimated. After you pick up the meds from his campsite you must deposit it into your Storage. The mission ends as you deposit the meds. You receive 500 Influence as a reward for completing the Personal Goal.

Note: In case you didn't ignore your community member during the previous missions, they'll be at the campsite to help you. You can even talk with them about it.

We've had our differences, but I've got your back. I guess sometimes we have to do what's necessary to survive.

It was that way for some of us even before the apocalypse. But I'm glad you're here.
I appreciate you showing up, but this isn't your fight. You should go home.
(Remove survivor as a follower)

Your survivor's thoughts during the mission:

  • Starting the mission: T-Dog didn't live too far from here. He never kept supply at his house before the Outbreak. But I'm sure the zombie apocalypse changed that.
  • Searching his house: T-Dog hid stuff better than Houdini. The drugs are here; I just need some kind of clue.
  • Finding the note: This note's from Anthony. I can't believe that freeloader's still alive. Maybe he's still at his campsite.
  • Depositing the Meds: I knew they'd come along.

Vinyl Dreams[]

Hunt for a Record Player[]

"Now that I've got a place to stay, maybe it's time I found a turntable so I can play all this vinyl I've been collecting."

Your survivor reveals to the community that they've been collecting vinyls for a while now, so they want to find a turntable for it to be able to listen to them.

Your task is to visit a location which supposedly has a turntable. When you arrive, you notice a survivor under attack by zombies at the location. After you save them and talk with them, they tell you the following:

I thought the folks here had a music collection, but it's gone. Any chance you can help me get back home?

Damn, and I was looking for a turntable. Sure, let's go.
(Add survivor as Follower)
I came for the music, not to pick up strays. Good luck out there.
(Refuse to Help)

If you agreed to help them, they start following you. The mission ends after you arrive to their home. You receive 200 Influence as a reward. They also establish a Friendly Enclave at the location.

"People back home don't understand the importance of music. Good to meet someone who does."

Important: Refusing to help cancels the Personal Goal.

Your survivor's thoughts during the mission:

  • Starting the mission: A lot of folks just don't get it. There's no substitute for vinyl. The sound quality, the artwork, liner notes ... and it's physical. It can survive.

A Record Player for Your Survivor[]

I saw a turntable not too far from here. Too many zombies or I would have grabbed it. Meet me if you're interested.

The survivor you saved in the previous mission notifies your community that they found a turntable. Your survivor wants to meet them to find out more about it. When you arrive, they tell you the following:

I think I saw a record player in a house nearby. Some zeds chased me off, but I'll bet we can take them together.

As you arrive to the location, you notice some zombies and a Feral around. After you find the Old Record Player (Luxury Item) inside the house, you get the opportunity to recruit the survivor.

  • If you recruit them, you'll get a new survivor with Music as their fifth skill.
  • If you don't recruit them, they will stick around as an Allied Enclave, providing you with the Luxury Supply Drop Enclave Benefit and Knowledge of Arts.

Note: If you recruit the survivor you'll still have access to the Luxury Supply Drop Radio Command as long as you don't leave the game.

Your survivor's thoughts during the mission:

  • Starting the mission: I hope *survivor* was right about that turntable. I'm tired of listening to myself hum.

Vinyl Thief[]

"What the hell! Someone just took off with half my vinyl collection! I need my records!"

Your survivor alerts the group that someone stole half of their vinyl collection. They know which way they're headed though, so your task is to track down the jerk. When you approach their location, the thief will start running so you must catch up to them.

  • If they get too far from you, the mission fails.
  • If you manage to catch up, they'll stop and tell you the following:

Don't hurt me! I don't know why I took your stupid records. Please, just take them!

  • You can either grab your records and tell them to disappear, or
  • you can recruit them to your community.

If you sent them on their way, the mission ends. If you decided to recruit them, you can either take them home yourself or tell them to go alone. As you approach your base, your survivor will tell the following:

"Hey people, I'm almost home with a new recruit. I should mention that it's the same person who stole my records, but we've talked. Everything's okay now."

Note: If you recruit the survivor, they'll always have the Kleptomaniac Trait and a Hobbyist's 1911 sidearm.

Your survivor's thoughts during the mission:

  • Starting the mission: What kind of degenerate steals records? At least I saw which way they went.
